Some sessions feel especially effortless from the start, and this one was a wonderful example of that kind of experience. After wrapping up a media session with a lacrosse team, I asked a few of the girls if they would like to move from the field to the beach for a portrait session later in the spring.

Moving from the field to the beach gave these girls a chance to show a different side of themselves.

It is always fun to work with a group of girls who want to get dressed up and have fun! Sessions like this are a reminder that the best photographs often come from simple settings and real moments. A little direction and a beautiful location are often all it takes to create images that feel timeless.

You would never know that behind the scenes they were wrapped in blankets because it was 52 degrees and windy out in May on Cape Cod.
